EUROPEAN CAMPING GROUP, the European leader in the mobile-home holidays sector, has finalised the acquisition of 2 premium campsites in France: La Croix du Vieux Pont (a 5-star site with 660 pitches), located at Berny Rivière in the Aisne department / La Chapelle (4-star site with 600 pitches), located at Argelès-Plage in the Pyrénées-Orientales department.
EUROPEAN CAMPING GROUP (ECG) CEO Alain CALMÉ, explains : “We are particularly proud of these two additions to our campsite portfolio. Both premium sites are renowned within the industry for their excellent facilities and their true international potential. I am convinced that our group brand names will further enhance and extend the outreach of these campsites. We are also in the final phase of negotiations for several other ones, in order to complete the ECG range for the 2019 season.”
ECG CFO Philippe de TRÉMIOLLES, adds : “These two transactions are perfectly in line with our development strategy, as we have the financial capacity to complete 4 – 6 similar deals each year.”
La Croix du Vieux Pont campsite founder Philippe LEFEVRE, states : “I am delighted with the deal agreed with EUROPEAN CAMPING GROUP. Our discussions were intense, but based on a sense of mutual trust built-up through many years of partnerships with Eurocamp and the ECG brands. We have struck a deal which suits both parties and I am convinced that my campsite remains in good hands.”
La Chapelle campsite founder Laurent RASPAUD, concludes : “We explored a number of different scenarii together with ECG, who were truly attentive to the owner. Although it is always a challenge to hand over the management of a campsite where one has worked for decades, I have every confidence in the future development of my business and the seamless integrations of my teams within ECG.”
